This edition of Poe's best known work is based on a version published in the Saturday Courier of Philadelphia in 1846, two years after the original vesion was rejected by Graham’s American Monthly Magazine of Literature and Art in 1844.

The Philosophy of Composition, an esay in which Poe expounds on his methodology in writing The Raven, was first published in the April 1846 issue of Graham’s.
